Places to take the children near our family friendly beach houses

Less than two hours from London, and sleeping from 2 to 20 people, our family friendly beach houses are the dream destination for children of all ages. With the beach on your doorstep, a bucket, spade and swimmers are all you will need for endless hours of fun and laughter. Yet should you wish to explore beyond the beautiful beaches of West Sussex, there are plenty of places great for children in the local area. Read on to discover some of our favourite nearby activities for the little ones… and yes, they are all adult friendly too!

 

Out of Bounds
This activity centre has something for everyone. With Clip ‘N Climb, Adventure Golf, Laser Tag, FootGolf and Soft Play, the whole family will be entertained.

Harbour Park
Treat the little ones to a quintessentially British day at a seaside amusement park. With fairground rides for the whole family, as well as an indoor soft play area and arcade, every one is catered for. From dodgems and bumper boats to adventure golf and trampolines, you name it, they most probably have it!

The Flying Fortress
A family entertainment centre featuring an aeroplane play frame with soft play areas for toddlers, Mirror Mazes and Racing Slides. For teenagers there are pool tables, and for the adults, soft sofas and a cafe to enjoy a bite to eat and a drink whilst the children play. During school holidays, every Thursday morning between 9.30 and 12.00 is reserved for under 4’s only so that the little ones don’t get bowled over and can have some fun! Then from 12 onwards, all ages are welcome.

Dome Cinema
One of Britain’s oldest working cinemas, this three-screen Edwardian picture house is a must if you fancy a movie. Opt for a double sofa and get extra comfy, and be sure to grab a drink at the balcony bar overlooking the sea.

Southwater Country Park
A country park and lake offering a selection of recreational activities including canoeing, sailing,
kayaking, raft building and windsurfing. In celebration of Southwater’s dinosaur history (with a real a real iguanadon skeleton being found in the lake) the adventure play area is dedicated to dinosaurs with sculptures, dinosaur bones and Dinosaur Island.

Fishers Farm Park
Get up close to the animals at this award winning adventure farm park. From alpacas to cockatoos, the farm has a selection of rescued and rare breed animals just waiting for some love and attention. Take part in handling sessions and pony rides, and at the right time of the year help with bottle feeding. Take a picnic or have a bite to eat at the restaurant. With soft play centres, quad bikes and climbing wall, you won’t want to leave here in a hurry!

Bring the universe to life and make learning fun with a trip to this volunteer led educational centre. Explore the past, present and future of the universe and experience the magic of the night sky with a special star projector and dome images.
