Angmering on Sea, West Sussex
Just a five minute walk from all our beach houses
Your beach house rental property will be just a stone’s throw from Angmering-on-Sea, and whilst the village is quiet and picturesque, it has all you need to enjoy an evening out without having to travel. This includes local eateries such as The Clockhouse Bar, Micks Fish & Chips, Penang Chinese Restaurant, Reema Indian Restaurant, Grub & Gumption Café with excellent home-made food and the Seahorse Café.
Local amenities include Seaview Stores, a general store stocking all the essentials. A hairdresser and a barber can also be found within walking distance of the houses.
The beach itself is a real gem, and at low tide provides a huge expanse of sand that’s dog friendly all year round. When it comes to dining by the sea, you’ll be spoilt for choice, as the Seaview freehouse sits just a stones through from the seafront, and on sunny summer days, the previously mentioned Sea Horse Cafe takes a pop up stand down to the seafront for tasty food and stunning views. A walk east along the beach for 15 minutes from the properties brings you to The Bluebird Cafe, or if you’re feeling more adventurous, a 45 minute walk west along the beach brings you to East Beach Cafe in Littlehampton, an architectural attraction serving great food from local suppliers.
A few minutes in the car (or a slightly longer walk) will find you in nearby East Preston, with even more shops and amenities including a mini-supermarket for essentials.
One of our particular favourite places to eat, around 10 minutes by car, is The Lamb in Angmering, a gastropub serving a mixture of fine dining and pub classics.
If the coast is the main attraction for your holiday, our location is perfectly situated to take in some of the best towns on the seafront. Particularly close is Littlehampton and Worthing, both of which have a busy town centre with all the usual seaside attractions. Worthing boasts some wonderful architecture including the Dome Cinema and the attractive pier. With restaurants a plenty both are true British seaside towns. There is Pitch which is run by former MasterChef winner Kenny Hutt and the Fish Factory to name a couple; Just a little further along the coast, but still only a 30-40 minute drive away (or 25min train journey) is the city of Brighton & Hove which is rich in sightseeing opportunities, shopping and eating.
Close to our luxury rental properties, but inland, is the historic town of Arundel, a popular place to visit for independent gift and antique shops, contemporary art galleries, and a range of pubs and restaurants. The town boasts two historic landmarks, Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral, perfect for those wanting to immerse themselves in local history. During over two weekends in August, the town holds its much loved Arundel Festival, which creates a buzz in the air that is simply infectious.
An attraction situated a short distance from the location of our holiday properties is Goodwood, popular for Glorious Goodwood horse racing, motorsport, and a wide range of leisure activities. It’s home to the famous Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, which are held in the summer months. Both are extravaganzas of motorsport, aviation, and activities that appeal to everyone.
Also near to the beach houses is the city of Chichester, a hub of history and culture, and popular for its shops, bars, restaurants and theatre. Nestled in the heart of the city is the famous Chichester Cathedral, visible from miles around, and open to visitors all year round. The shops that line the streets of Chichester blend high street with independent, which means there’s definitely something for every keen shopper.
The fantastic countryside close to our luxury rental properties boasts many attractions, including the beautiful gardens at West Dean and Nymans, and walks across the downs, through the Sussex weald, and along miles of South Downs Way coastline. The Cowdray Estate nearby is popular too, offering polo, golf, and a wide range of other leisure activities. For those looking for a great city experience whilst staying in our beach houses, a short journey along the coast brings you to Brighton, a city that combines the fun of the seaside with shopping, music and culture.
